Lithium Americas Corp. (TSX: LAC) is an exploration company focused on the exploration for lithium, potassium, borax and other minerals in South America.

Key Attributes

Size:

  • One of the largest known lithium brine deposits in the world
  •  An NI 43-101 compliant inferred in situ resource estimate of 1.58 x 1012 litres with  average grade of 584 mg/l Li and 4860 mg/L K (equivalent to  4.9 million tonnes of lithium carbonate and 7.7 million tonnes of potassium)

High Quality:

  • Average lithium concentration from inferred resource estimate of 580 mg/L
  • There are only 3 lithium brine deposits in the world currently in commercial production
  • Lithium Americas’ brine quality is higher than one of the world’s 3 current commercial deposits, and on-par with a second

Low Cost:

  • Lithium Americas’ large land package of 119,227 hectares is located in the Puna Plateau, an area which hosts approximately 84% of the world’s lithium brine reserves and includes 2 of the world’s 3 commercial lithium brine deposits
  • Given the extremely dry conditions associated with the Puna Plateau, low cost evaporation technology is used in lithium brine processing
  • Lithium Americas’ main exploration property is located near a paved highway with access to extensive regional infrastructure, key factors to keep costs low

Exploration Potential:

  • While the Company already has one of the largest known lithium brine deposits in the world, the 43-101 inferred in situ resource estimate was obtained from only approximately one-third of the Company’s main property package, with all drill holes still open at depth
  • Lithium Americas continues its exploration program to better define its resource estimate and to identify high-grade zones

Strategic Investors:

  • Magna International and Mitsubishi Corporation are both equity investors in Lithium Americas Corp, in addition to both having off-take agreements with the Company.
